I'll be at this show tonight -- sort of.
Well, sort of. I'll actually be at Ellen's Stardust Diner, the restaurant upstairs from Iridium Jazz Club, watching the show as it unfolds -- via closed-circuit TV.
Iridium is at 1650 Broadway in New York, and by "tonight," I mean Tuesday, June 8.
This is kind of a special night, and I'm really looking forward to it.
Tickets never went on sale; they were either invite-only or given out as contest prizes by Iridium. I think I won second prize (or third?), which is described above (upstairs restaurant, closed-circuit TV, etc.). Hey, I'll take it! Thank you, Iridium!
Jeff Beck will be performing with Irish rockabilly singer Imelda May and her band (another band with new music coming out later this summer), and there will be a few other special guests. I don't think anything is confirmed, so I won't mention any names (Steve Miller has been mentioned).
This won't be Jeff Beck's normal show, of course; it'll feature lots of Les Paul tunes plus some old rockabilly stuff and other assorted oddities. Or so I'm told.
